Marissa Zwetow, LMFT - Postpartum Happiness
Transitioning from pregnancy to motherhood is not easy and often doesn’t fit your pictures of what you thought it would be or what you wanted it to be. This gap between what you hoped and how it actually is can leave you feeling devastated and confused. You know you should reach out, but the embarrassment stops you. You’re tired of pretending that everything is great and you’re so happy being a mother. Medication is an option, but this may not sit well with you, especially if you’re nursing. You were hoping it would get better with time, but it’s not and now it’s affecting your marriage and relationships. You are not alone. A lot of mother’s struggle with this transition and often don’t talk about it due to embarrassment and shame. It doesn’t have to be this way. You can feel joy about yourself, your baby, and your relationships. You can find yourself again. I can help because I understand what you’re going through. I struggled with postpartum depression and understand the sadness, the isolation, and the feeling of being blindsided by its hold on you. My mission is to help mothers struggling with any type of postpartum adjustment and share my wisdom, strength, and hope. It can get better.
