Baltimore Annapolis Center for Integrative Healing
TJ specializes in trauma; both the one time kind and the kind that has built over a lifetime. I am also certified in perinatal care and the unique ways having a baby stirs the soul. I especially love the overlap of trauma and maternal care. Sometimes it is hard to identify trauma, sometimes it's obvious. Sometimes we just know that what is happening in our mind/body is bigger than this moment. Trauma changes our story and how we react to life, other people (including our babies), and ourselves. It can lead to isolation and reactions can feel overwhelming or as if there are none at all. This is compounded during the maternal period. Pacing, compassion, and curiosity are important values to my practice. I work from the perspective that it is critical to take therapy beyond the talking. Therapy needs to be creative, relational, engaging as well as comfortable to help us truly understand our experiences and create lasting and positive healing change. Using bottom-up approaches like Brainspotting, expressive arts therapies and somatic methods together with mindfulness allows us to access trauma that is outside our conscious awareness. We don't chose which experiences leave a lasting impact. I provide the space and expertise that allows you to engage in an opportunity to learn, heal, and grow in your life.
