Dr. Sarah Allen
Helping new parents is my passion. I have over 24 years experience treating pregnancy & postpartum anxiety, stress and depression. I make help more accessible by offering remote sessions via phone or Vsee (which is like Skype but HIPPA complaint) to residents of Illinois as well as appointments in my office in Northbrook, a suburb just north of Chicago. I have published research on Postpartum Depression and PTSD following traumatic childbirth experiences. I went to my first PSI conference in 1997 and was asked by PSI's founder to be the PSI IL coordinator, a role I was proud to have for 17 years. I am also the Founder and Director of the Postpartum Depression Alliance of IL where our volunteers provide information about maternal mental health issues and help women and their families find resources across the state. Sharing information is important to me as I know how isolated new parents feel when pregnancy and postpartum isn't the way they expected it to be so I share the many articles about maternal mental health I have written and have been interviewed for on my website. I also offer free downloadable booklets about Anxiety, Depression, Pregnancy & Postpartum Anxiety, Depression & Stress, Emotional Eating and Parenting on my website.
