Leslie Pertz, LMSW, NIC

About

I treat people facing a variety of issues including, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, birth trauma, infertility, pregnancy termination due to anomaly or mother's health, chronic pain and chronic illness, tinnitus, grief, substance abuse and families affected by addiction, trauma and PTSD (including PTSD after NICU stay), depression, and anxiety. I see all ages, birth to end-of-life. I worked for a number of years on a hospital NICU floor, and mom/baby and pediatrics. I later worked for outpatient pediatric and Ob/Gyn clinics; I have seen it all and I have learned to companion women/parents, and children through all the aspects of coming into the world, including leaving the world after too short periods in it. Because I have seen it, and I have experienced it, I know you can find wellness. Sometimes simple changes lead to lasting peace. We might need to clear out old traumas to make way for our new lives. I use innovative approaches to find what works for you to make a change. I consider it an honor to walk with people on their life journey of self-exploration if even for only 45 minutes once a week for some time. You are not alone, you will be well. With support we tend to feel not so alone, and when we do not feel alone we can sometimes feel all the hope we need to move in a new direction toward healing. I am a member of EMDRIA and a certified EMDR therapist, and a Consultant-in-Training.
