Pria Alpern, PhD, Clinical Psychologist

I provide individual psychotherapy to women struggling with PMADS (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders) using integrative approaches that incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodynamic, and mindfulness techniques. I also have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and use this modality to help individuals struggling with miscarriage, loss, and birth trauma. In addition to providing individual psychotherapy, I also facilitate a new mothers support group at the JCC of Manhattan, provide postpartum plan consultations to expecting and new parents, and facilitate workshops for perinatal professionals/birth workers.
